The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer is expected to conduct research in Physical Geography (Oceanography) across coastal to deep ocean systems, focusing on the composition and motion of the water column, coastal processes such as tides, storm surges and sea‑level rise, ice dynamics and cryosphere‑ocean interactions, and the use of geospatial tools including remote sensing and GIS to analyse environmental change. Modelling of ocean currents, waves and human impacts such as land reclamation and coastal engineering is also encouraged.
Qualifications& Experience
- A PhD in Physical Geography, Oceanography or a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to staying up‑to‑date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidenced teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
- Evidenced ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
- High‑level communication skills and ability to network effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
