Loyola University Chicago is seeking an Assistant Professor to:
- teach undergraduate and graduate courses on literature and critical theory;
- conduct research on Native American literature;
- publish scholarship;
- participate in scholarly conferences;
- perform professional service (e.g., reviewing);
- advise students;
- serve on PhD examination and dissertation committees; and
- serve on departmental committees.
Up to 15% domestic and international travel required. Up to 30% remote work allowed.
Qualifications- PhD degree in English Language and Literature or related field plus 1 year related experience.
- Prior experience must include:
Curriculum development for North American Indigenous literature and treaty histories; - Transcribe two literary manuscripts, which were unpublished materials from archives;
- Research Indigenous Literatures and methodologies from Canada and the United States;
- Teach Indigenous Literature from Canada;
- Teach Indigenous Studies from Canada.

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, experience and qualifications, degree timing, training, field or discipline, budget availability, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
