Student Employment Eligibility

  • Student Employment at Digi Pen is open to all currently matriculated students if they meet the qualifications for the job.
  • Students may not work during any time when they have a class scheduled, a class is canceled, or a class ends early.

Reports to

Matt Brunner, Program Director for the BFA DAA

Job Purpose

To assist the BFA Program Director and the Program Direction Committee with tasks that are needed for the smooth operation and assessment of the Program.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contact alumni for job placement confirmation in a timely manner. Assist in recording and transferring the information to Career and Alumni Services as well as to the Program Director.
  • Gather data on the current BFA related job market through job ads and postings.
  • Assist in other research and data collecting initiatives, including creating and distributing polls and questionnaires, compiling data into clear data visualizations, and working with the Program Director committee in their efforts to gather and understand important data.
  • Report regularly to members of the BFA Program Director committee
  • Help archive and compile student work into easily accessed touch points for marketing, our PAC members, our website, and for various showcase venues. This would include editing showcase reels.
Qualifications/Competencies
  • Be able to work independently
  • Excellent organizational skills and highly functional in different organization related software, such as Excel and Word
  • Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked
Experience
  • Working with others and meeting deadlines
  • Experience using MS Excel
  • Video editing experience highly desirable
Expected number of hours per week

Wage Range

$16.28 - 17.25 per hour, depending on number of terms worked at Digi Pen

Working Conditions

Must be able to work hours outside the normal work week of 9:00-5:00

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and fine finger dexterity. May need to lift up to 25 lbs. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.

Digi Pen Student Employee Academic Requirements
  • Are currently a Matriculated student at Digi Pen Institute of Technology
  • Good Academic Standing – not on Academic Warning as defined in Digi Pen Course Catalog
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
Requirement Exceptions

It is possible to still be selected for a position with Digi Pen if you do not meet the requirements above, so don't let that dissuade you from applying!

Once you have applied and the supervisor decides to offer you a position, we will contact the necessary managers (Supervisor, Department Chair, and/or the Dean of Faculty) to complete and sign off on an Academic Waiver form, depending on which requirements need to be waived. Once the Waiver is returned to us, we'll continue you through the hiring process.
