Reading Intervention Specialist, Prequel (Remote) - $60,000/year USD

Base pay $30/hr (equivalent to $60,000/year). Remote‑first online school designed for genuine academic growth, not clock‑watching. We re‑think student learning to accelerate progress, increase engagement, and produce measurable confidence.

You’ll facilitate high‑impact intervention sessions in most weeks, and conduct brief motivation check‑ins in the remainder. This role is ideal for individuals who value independence, immediate feedback, and visible results. It’s not suitable for those seeking scripted instruction or uncomfortable working with data.

• Plan and conduct virtual small‑group and individual reading intervention sessions for students grades 3–8
• Analyze reading assessment data to pinpoint fluency and comprehension deficits and modify instruction rapidly
• Adapt activities to accommodate multiple reading levels, including specialized support for dyslexia and similar reading challenges
• Monitor progress through consistent, transparent methods and apply data insights to shape upcoming sessions
• Facilitate structured motivation check‑ins designed to strengthen confidence, resilience, and pride in development

• Deliver large, whole‑class instruction or present from a rigid curriculum
• Implement a pre‑written program without responding to individual student needs and live feedback
• Serve as a passive "software supervisor" lacking meaningful teaching and interpersonal engagement
• Depend on superficial incentives that fail to cultivate enduring motivation

Take ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—through personalized virtual interventions and motivational support that cultivates confidence.

• Bachelor’s degree in education, literacy, or a closely related field
• Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K‑12 or equivalent state certification)
• Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or related structured literacy approaches)
• At least 2 years of experience delivering small‑group or one‑on‑one reading interventions for students grades 3–8
• Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
• Ability to interpret progress monitoring data and use it to plan and adjust instruction
• Strong ability to engage and manage students in a virtual setting through clear, motivating communication
• Full‑time availability during U.S. business hours (Monday–Friday; 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. PT)

The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. Compensation is $30 USD/hour, which equates to $60,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. Payment period is weekly.
