The Assessment Manager leads and oversees all statewide and internal testing operations to ensure compliance with SCDE (South Carolina Department of Education) requirements, accuracy in data reporting, and a positive testing experience for staff, students and families.

Responsibilities- Supervises the planning, budgeting and implementation of all required state and local testing initiatives.
- Functions as part of the school’s leadership team to identify key data for school improvement.
- Communicates assessment project plans and needs verbally and in writing to appropriate stakeholders.
- Analyzes data to suggest programmatic improvements.
- Actively participates in all team meetings.
- Supervises and advises teaching and temporary staff as needed to facilitate off‑site state testing.
- Contributes to the school’s continuous improvement by suggesting further questions, considerations, and research.
- Develops communications to parents and staff regarding state testing.
- Maintains testing planning and tracking tools throughout the year; tracks student accommodations for Special Education, 504, and general education students.
- Oversees processes for sorting, packing and shipping materials to sites; regularly inventories and orders non‑secure testing supplies for each administration.
- Collaborates with the Special Education Manager on the implementation of state testing and the needs for alternate assessment testers.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Valid SC teaching certificate.
- Five (5) years of educational experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Professional experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; familiarity with using databases; web proficiency.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
- Ability to problem solve independently and have a high level of organization.
- Understanding of interdependency of deadlines on multiple projects and ability to act to preserve integrity on other people’s deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time.
- Ability to pass required background check.
- Track record of timely successful task/project completion.
- Master’s degree in Business or Education.
- Previous experience with administering state assessments.
This position has 1-4 direct reports. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

All staff must reside in the state of South Carolina. This position is remote with the following travel expectations:
- Travel to Greenville headquarters or other statewide location during state testing.
- Quarterly department gatherings.
- Travel to distribute or collect test materials.
- Periodic district or state level trainings in Columbia.
- All‑staff professional development in July (2-3 days).
