Overview

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is looking for a summer adjunct instructor to instruct incoming first-year college students in math as a part of a 5-week Summer Bridge program. SSS is a grant-funded program that serves up to 160 Pell-eligible or first-generation college students enrolled in a 4-year program. The adjunct hired for this position will teach a zero-credit math bootcamp to assist students who tested below college-level math develop the skills needed to improve their college-level math placement.

The course will run from May 18 to June 22. Class days and times have not yet been determined, except that they will not be on Fridays.

Adjuncts will be paid $3,000 in total, split across 3 pay periods.

Responsibilities

Summer instructors for TRIO Student Support Services will be responsible for the development of the course curriculum, delivery of the content, and oversight of student safety and engagement throughout their contracted time with the program. The pay covers instruction, preparation, and grading time.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor s or master s degree in a field related to the position, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage, AK. This is a temporary adjunct position with up to 20 hours per pay period between May 18 and June 26, including 3 hours per week of lessons June 1-June 26. Pay is $1,000 total, split into three biweekly paychecks.
