Overview

This position is within Student Life as the Advisor to Culturally Based Fraternal Organizations (CBFOs) and Community Liaison for Multicultural Engagement (NPHC and MGC Advisor). The role is responsible for setting the direction and advocating for the development of co-curricular programs and services that support student learning within Greek-Letter Student Organizations. All efforts are in the service of creating learning environments that celebrate diversity, foster student development, and provide leadership development opportunities.

This role is onsite in Ann Arbor with one day a week remote during the traditional school year. Additional modality flexibility may be available during spring/summer semesters. FSL s mission is to support the development of student leaders and their fraternities or sororities through partnerships with students, alumni, inter/national headquarters, and other stakeholders to promote well-being & a sense of belonging.

Position Summary

As a staff member within Student Life, the Advisor to CBFOs and Community Liaison for Multicultural Engagement is responsible for setting the direction and advocating for the development of co-curricular programs and services that support student learning within Greek-Letter Student Organizations. All efforts are in the service of creating learning environments that celebrate diversity, foster student development, and provide leadership development opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Student organization advising, consultation, and oversight (councils and fraternity/sorority chapters)
  • Administrative responsibility for areas of specialization within Fraternity & Sorority Life, including multicultural engagement, campus climate concerns, bystander interventions, and other well-being initiatives
  • Program development and implementation
  • Assist in assessment and evaluation in alignment with office and divisional assessment priorities
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor s Degree
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 1 year of full-time, part-time, graduate, or volunteer experience working with fraternities and sororities. Direct engagement with issues affecting diverse populations and those who have experienced oppression, specifically in areas of race/ethnicity.
  • Knowledge:
    Knowledge of applying leadership development theories and risk management practices within Greek-letter organizations, within culturally based fraternal organizations.
  • Specialized

    Skills:

    Administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Requires substantial competency in conflict resolution.
Modes of Work

Additional Information

This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.

Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment and applicants for this position will not be sponsored for work visas.

Selected candidates whose start date is 4/1/2026 or after, will not be eligible for the university FY26-27 salary/merit plan unless otherwise notified.

Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of the selected candidate.

Relocation will not be offered for this role.
