Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) is looking for a full‑time Welding Instructor to begin Fall 2026.
We are looking for industry professionals; no prior teaching experience is required. This position will instruct students in the theory and craft of welding, including welding and cutting processes on different types of metals and the use of technical drawings and blueprints. Instructors will prepare students for positions in construction, manufacturing, and heavy industry.
This position includes teaching assigned classes, which may include evening or weekend hours; organizing and delivering clear syllabi and objectives; maintaining an organized and safe environment for students in classrooms and labs; ensuring training aids, tools, and equipment are maintained; guiding and assisting students; keeping accurate records of performance and making timely submission of academic records; providing timely feedback; maintaining office hours;
participating in departmental/institutional operations and program review; creating a learning environment that fosters student success; and contributing to a collegial and collaborative work environment. The Department of Applied and Emerging Technologies consists of 9 full‑time faculty and 7 program directors involved in recruitment, advising, and student organization support. The Dean, reporting to the Vice President of Academic Services, heads the department.
Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction and maintain curriculum.
- Teach/conduct assigned classes, labs, clinicals, studio and internships.
- Prepare lessons and provide an accurate course syllabus.
- Create a learning environment that fosters student success.
- Develop, integrate, evaluate, and assess student learning outcomes to support the College’s ongoing accreditation.
- Participate in developing and reviewing curricula and instructional methods, and articulate courses as necessary.
- Consult with advisory committee(s) when appropriate for program or curriculum.
- Evaluate and assist students, keeping accurate records of performance and following the evaluation procedures outlined in the syllabus.
- Provide constructive and timely feedback to students.
- Maintain office hours consistent with Section 8.3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Comply with registration/records procedures.
- Remain current in the discipline and participate in professional growth activities.
- Attend scheduled monthly department meetings and participate in departmental/institutional operations.
- Contribute to a collegial and collaborative work environment.
- Participate in program review, complete academic assessment activities, and conduct at least one assessment twice per academic year.
- Compile and submit assessment data as prescribed by academic services division.
- Document changes based on aggregated data in department meetings.
- Industry professionals with at least 2,000 hours of work experience; no prior teaching experience required.
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Associate’s degree in Welding or extensive work experience and/or Journeyman status.
Salary ranges are based on education level and experience:
- No degree / Some college credit / Certificate of Completion / Associate’s degree / Bachelor’s degree: $49,308 – $72,948
- Master’s degree: $51,901 – $76,788
