Assistant Vice President for Radford Online
Radford University, a nationally recognized comprehensive public university, invites nominations and applications for the position of Assistant Vice President of Radford Online. This is an exceptional opportunity for an innovative and strategic leader to join a forward-thinking university and play a key role in shaping the future of online, distance, and hybrid education.
As the chief leader for Radford Online, the Assistant Vice President provides visionary and operational oversight for the development, integration, and management of all online programs under Radford's newly organized single service model. Reporting directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, this position ensures that Radford Online delivers high-quality, accessible, and innovative programs aligned with the university's mission and strategic goals.
Responsibilities include:- Leading the creation and implementation of a comprehensive strategic vision for online learning.
- Overseeing the development and management of Radford Online's program portfolio and expansion strategies.
- Collaborating across academic departments and administrative units to promote continuous curriculum improvement.
- Ensuring rigorous quality assurance for online and hybrid programs, including course design, delivery, and assessment.
- Establishingstrongpartnerships withinternalandexternal stakeholders, including faculty, enrollment management, technology services, and vendor partners.
- Championing faculty development, student support, marketing, enrollment management, and financial modeling for sustainability.
- Monitoring regulatory compliance and accreditation standards.
- Serving as academic lead on vendor partnerships and program administration.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative, strategic, and results-driven leader with:
- A master's degree required (doctorate preferred) in education, instructional technology, higher education leadership, or a related field.
- At least 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in online learning or higher education administration.
- Demonstrated success in developing, launching, and maintaining online academic programs across multiple academic units.
- Experience with instructional design, educational technologies, and financial modeling.
- Strong leadership, project management, communication, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of trends in online education, accreditation, and compliance.
- Experience with budgeting, resource management, and developing financial models. Preferred qualifications include experience building fully online undergraduate programs and expertise in online instructional and program design.
