Advanced Placement; AP Reader

Overview

Become an Advanced Placement (AP) Reader. AP Teachers, College Faculty Members, Adjuncts, or Graduate Teaching Assistants may apply to grade AP exams over the summer. The AP Reading is an annual event where educators score AP exam responses. The Reading takes place for the first two and a half weeks of June at five AP Reading sites; an at-home scoring option is available.

The compensation for this position is $30 per hour. The opportunity to read takes place both online from home and onsite at a designated Reading site (lodging and meals are included).

• Score AP exam responses during the AP Reading season, contributing to the evaluation of millions of AP student exams.
• Collaborate with fellow AP Readers and Reading staff to ensure consistent and accurate scoring according to AP guidelines.
• Engage in professional development through participation in the AP Reading experience.

• Eligible candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• For College-Level Faculty
  :
  Active faculty members (full-time or adjunct) or graduate teaching assistants who have taught at least one semester of a comparable AP course within the past three years. Graduate teaching assistants or part-time/adjunct faculty may be considered if they have taught or assisted in teaching at least one semester of the equivalent course within the past three years.
• For High School AP Teachers
  :
  All current AP course–authorized high school teachers who are actively teaching their AP subject are welcome to apply, regardless of years of experience.
• Any school-labeled AP course must have authorization through the AP Course Audit process.
• Existing AP Readers who have onboarded with Raise do not need to reapply.

• Lodging and meals are included for onsite readings.
• Compensation is $30 per hour.
• Readings may occur online from home or onsite at a Reading site.
• You may be selected to serve as an AP Reader in your first year or considered for future Readings depending on subject needs.
