General funds, to begin approximately August 2026, contingent on satisfactory performance, operational and program needs, actual staffing requirements, and availability of funds. Position may be converted from 9-month to 11-month or 11-month to 9-month, as operational needs are required. This is a non-remote position; on-site presence is required.

• Under general supervision, teach a range of developmental and transfer-level Math courses and perform other teaching-related duties that include but are not limited to planning, organizing, and independently carrying out instructional and non-instructional assignments.
• Develop curriculum and support courses to meet student needs and college objectives, including but not limited to courses that contextualize Math at the developmental level and for CTE and transfer programs.
• Instructional assignments may involve in-person, distance education, and other instructional formats.
• Develops and updates curriculum, teaching methods, materials, and assessment strategies to improve learning based on assessment results.
• May involve developing and teaching noncredit and off-campus courses for targeted groups in support of allied programs.
• Participates in division, campus, institution-related service activities as well as community-service.
• Maintains disciplinary expertise through professional development to and enhance curriculum quality.
• Must be available for evening and weekend teaching assignments, teaching on campus, off-campus at military bases, and/or at secondary education sites (high schools). To teach on a military base, Department of Defense security clearance will be required. To teach Early College courses for DOE schools, background checks will be required.
• Commitment to community college principles and philosophy is essential. The College emphasizes the “open door” concept and serves all student and community populations.

• Master's in Mathematics; OR
• Master's in Math Education with 18 credits of advanced coursework in math of which 9 credits are at the graduate level; OR
• Master's of Art in Teaching Math with 18 credits of advanced coursework in math, at least 9 of which are at the graduate level; OR
• Master's in STEM-related field with 18 credits of advanced coursework in Math.

Note:

“Advanced coursework" is defined as 300-400 level courses offered in a bachelor's program. “Graduate level" coursework is defined as post baccalaureate courses at the level specified by the institution where the credits were earned. Minimum qualifications (degrees and credits) must be earned from regionally or nationally accredited postsecondary colleges and universities recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and met by the effective date of appointment.

• Ph.D. in Mathematics.
• Community college experience in teaching developmental Math education and/or corequisite developmental education.
• Community college experience in teaching college (transfer) level Math.
• Evidence of ability to contextualize course content of developmental Math courses and Math courses for CTE and transfer-level programs.
• Experience with learning management systems (LMS), platforms, and instructional technologies for classroom and distance education.
• Experience developing curriculum for Math courses.
• Track record of effective instruction in teaching Math courses using various course delivery formats (e.g., in-person, hybrid, online, accelerated).
• Demonstrated ability and experience in assessing student learning and using results to guide instructional strategies for continuous improvement in student learning.
