Position Overview

The adjunct faculty member will teach courses in Engineering for MDC Online.

What you will be doing

* Provides classroom instruction

* Revisies and develops new curriculum

* Develops and implements assessment activities to measure student learning outcomes

* Develops and teaches online courses

* Recruits, advises and evaluates students

* Teaches Dual Enrollment classes

* Prepares and writes grants for the Department of Engineering

* Participates in departmental, campus and college committees

* Teaches engineering and engineering technology courses college wide

* Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed

* Master's degree in Engineering; or Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Engineering

* All educational degrees must be from a regional accredited institution

* Must have passion for teaching in engineering

* Posesses excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

* Ability to use innovative teaching techniques

* Familiarity with distance learning and willingness to use technology tools in instruction

* Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student centered methods of instruction

* Ability to work well with students and collegues in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment

* Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments

Preferences

* Previous online teaching experience
