Join the Admissions Office front line of UAF recruitment by helping shape the student experience from first contact to enrollment.

The Communications & Ambassador Tele-Counseling Coordinator supports Admissions recruitment efforts by coordinating and supervising the Student Ambassador program and assisting with outreach initiatives across campus. With guidance from the Associate Director of Admissions for Recruitment, this position recruits, trains, schedules, and supervises Student Ambassadors; oversees an afternoon and evening phone bank; and ensures prospective student interactions are documented and shared appropriately with Admissions staff.

The role coordinates campus tours, Ambassador front desk coverage in Signer's Hall, and prospective student visit experiences; manages day-to-day operations of the Communications Room; supports Orientation and recruitment events; and assists with outbound calling campaigns and application processing as needed.

To thrive in this role, an individual must quickly develop a strong understanding of the culture, policies, and operational practices of the UAF Office of Admissions and demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a comprehensive Student Ambassador program. This includes recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising student employees while fostering a positive, professional, and high-performing team environment.

The successful candidate will support Ambassador phone bank operations, coordinate prospective student campus visits and front desk coverage, and collaborate closely with Admissions Counselors and campus partners such as New Student Orientation and Enrollment Communications. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential, along with proficiency in CRM systems, multi-user communication tools, and standard productivity software.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred qualifications include experience in a higher education setting; supervision of student employees or leadership programs; familiarity with Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms; and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations in a student-centered, inclusive environment.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
