What we want
Family Home Educators are responsible for recruiting and educating families participating in the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program. Under the supervision of the HIPPY Manager, they manage a caseload of 15-25 families, participate in weekly team meetings, conduct weekly home visits using role-play to model the HIPPY curriculum, and facilitate monthly group parent meetings. Family Home Educators collect assessment data, maintain accurate documentation in accordance with data entry guidelines, collaborate with team members to coordinate program activities, and connect families with appropriate resources in the Bryan/College Station community.

Required
Education and Experience
* High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
* Be a parent/participant in the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters, (HIPPY)
* Child Development Knowledge
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
* Experience working in a University setting
Responsibilities
Home Visits and Education
* Maintain a caseload of 15-25 HIPPY families who will receive a weekly home visit and monthly group meetings.
* Meet weekly with HIPPY coordinator to role play upcoming curriculum and prepare for home visits, group meetings, and community service activities.
* Assumes responsibilities to assist Coordinator in planning with committees, groups, and organizations to conduct educational programs and activities.
* Plans regularly with other staff members to coordinate programming efforts.
* Review and organize instructional materials in preparation for the group meetings and home visits with the families.
* Conduct weekly home visits with each family to role play the HIPPY curriculum and revisit families according to need.
* Manage referrals of families in need of information, assistance, and referrals to the coordinator or appropriate community resource as needed.
* Exercise professional judgement while in the home working with families.
* Manage and maintain scheduling of caseload.
* Manage challenging situations and maintain composure in families' home environments.
Recruitment
* Help identify and recruit families for the HIPPY Program in participating communities/schools.
Community Outreach/Support
* Participate and attend Texas HIPPY trainings, events, and service projects.
* Conduct regular outreach events throughout the community as determined by coordinator.
* Assumes responsibilities to assist Coordinator in planning with committees, groups, and organizations to conduct educational programs and activities.
* Plans regularly with other staff members to coordinate programming efforts.
Reporting and Data
* Maintain accurate timesheet and all other reporting as required by the HIPPY US, Texas HIPPY, and HIPPY at TAMU.
* Conduct data collection and data entry of evaluation instruments to measure progress and impact of the HIPPY Program.
