Online Learning Librarian/Professor of Library Science

Basic Requirements:

* Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.

* Must be an active member of a local Baptist church.

Job Qualifications:

* ALA-accredited Master of Library Science, Master of Library and Information Science, or equivalent

* Organizational and problem-solving skills

* Reference and research skills

* Instructional skills

* Knowledge of current issues and developments in librarianship and in distance learning

* Oral, written, and interpersonal skills

* Internet and web development skills

* Customer service focus

* Ability to work independently and as a team member

Position Responsibilities:

* Contributes to campus information literacy by designing and delivering online learning objectives and providing online teaching

* Offers both in-person and virtual reference services to faculty, staff, and students

* Actively participates in planning and executing library goals and outreach efforts with an emphasis on online faculty and students

* Serves as a subject librarian and faculty liaison, with duties including collection development and instruction

* Investigates online learning tools and makes recommendations for adoption of new tools and emerging practices

* Contributes to maintaining the library's website and online presence

* Coordinates with vendors and instructional technology to troubleshoot technical issues with resources as needed

* Coordinates ILL services for distance learners with the DBU ILL department

* Shares in traditional reference and instructional services on campus, including night and weekend reference rotation schedule

* Assists with training student workers and Circulation department responsibilities as needed

* Participates as a full faculty member, including attending Faculty Council meetings and serving as a member of Faculty and University committees

* Other duties as required
