Position
Short-term and/or temporary online Biology and Chemistry teaching position for the University of Minnesota – Crookston Campus's Math, Science, and Technology Department for the academic year.
Responsibilities- Develop and teach courses
- Advise students regarding academic concerns and school-related organizations
- Provide service-related teaching duties
- Participate in decisions relating to policies, courses, and programs in which there is involvement
- Continuing personal growth within the profession, keep current with the field and broaden knowledge and expertise
Deliver high-quality instruction to undergraduate students in coursework in biology and chemistry. Assist in the development of department goals and objectives; advise students; support research and community outreach. Maintain strong ties to scholars in the field, enrich student experience and support student employment opportunities. The position requires regular office hours.
Qualifications- Master’s Degree, preferably in the teaching discipline
- Or, Master’s Degree in another field, plus 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline
- A terminal degree in the discipline or related area is preferred
- Professional and/or teaching experience related to assigned instructional responsibilities
- Candidates must be willing to demonstrate self-awareness, cultural competencies, and achievement in working with diverse student populations
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Candidates must be eligible to work within the United States
Pay Range: $1300-$1500 per credit based on experience, course, and enrollment.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
