Adjunct - Online Computer Science or Computer Technology Instructor (Pool)

• For Computer Technology classes, an employer Letter(s) of Verification documenting a minimum of three (3) years of non-teaching wage earning experience in the occupational field is required. Multiple letters must be submitted if employment with one employer does not total three (3) years. Letters must be on company letterhead.

Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College. Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis. Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.

• Reports to the Division Chair of Business Administration and Computer Technology.
• Teaches online course(s) in one of the following disciplines:
  Computer Science or Computer Technology.

• For Computer Science — Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a master’s degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Computer Science from a regionally accredited college or university.
• For Computer Technology — Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Computer Technology (Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred) from a regionally accredited college or university;
  Minimum of three (3) years of non‑teaching wage earning experience in the occupational field.
• Experience developing and delivering Computer online courses; training in, and application of, online instruction standards such as SBEC or the North American Council for Online Learning.
• Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations.
• Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution.
• Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met.
