CPLC's Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs are committed to giving every child, regardless of circumstances at birth, an opportunity to succeed in school and life. Provides full-day, full-year early childhood development services to low income children, ages 0-3 years, and their families in educationally-stimulating learning environments.
Objective And Position SummaryThe Floater Teacher is responsible to support staff development and service delivery of high quality developmentally appropriate care and education for children aged 0-5 in the CPLC ECD Programs. To work as a site-based Floater with assigned classrooms in the role of a teacher. Works as part of a center based and home based inter‑disciplinary team to provide education, health and social service support to children and families as needed and requested.
Follow all state and federal regulations that apply to the care and education of young children, revised Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), Head Start Act, Colorado Department of Early Childhood, Office of Head Start Initiatives, and CPLC ECD Colorado Content Area Plans and Procedures. Actively supervise children by sight and sound at all times and in all environments. Maintain all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment.
Facilitate health practices to keep children safe in the school bus, outdoor and indoor environments.
- Education / Background:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
- A Bachelor’s degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Experience teaching preschool and/or infant/toddler age children.
NOTE: Education obtained outside of the United States of America (USA) and from another country must be evaluated from an accredited organization to determine equivalency to USA education status.
Other requirements- Bilingual Spanish/English (Preferred)
- Certification as a Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) reliable observer, and/or trainer in my Teachstone.
- Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum:
Inter‑rater reliable in Teaching Strategies Gold My Teaching Strategies, for preschool, infants, toddlers, and twos - Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) screening, implementing Program for Infant Toddler Caregivers (PITC), Center on Social & Emotional Foundation Early Learning Center (CSEFEL), Pyramid Model, Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scales (ITERS), and Toddler Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) (Preferred)
- Experience working with culturally diverse and low-income families (Preferred)
- Applicant must have basic keyboard skills and be able to use computer, computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe) and web-based systems.
