Job Overview
Intervention Specialist in Grades 3-5 works with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional and physical disabilities to ensure that lessons and teaching strategies meet the students’ needs, teach independent living skills, and provide appropriate literacy, communication, and math skills.
Compensation and BenefitsNon‑negotiable salary: $46,000 per year
Sign‑on bonus: $5,000
Annual bonus opportunities: Available through the school.

Applicants within 100 miles of the Ohio border (Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana) are considered. Candidates must be willing to travel and obtain Ohio certification.

Job NatureThis is a full‑time remote position. Candidates must be able to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week, and maintain a professional home office during the school day.
Essential Functions- Modify and/or adapt the K12 curriculum in alignment with the state’s content standards to meet each student’s unique needs.
- Write and maintain compliant IEPs for students identified with special needs.
- Collaborate with general‑education teachers to meet student goals.
- Educate parents on various instructional strategies.
- Prepare appropriate documentation.
- Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings.
- Proctor required testing, including alternative assessments when necessary.
- Collaborate with related services teams to ensure IEP goals are developed and monitored.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Show strong presentation skills.
- Maintain organizational and multi‑tasking abilities.
- Work without direct supervision.
- Maintain a flexible schedule and travel up to 20% of the time.
- Pass required background checks.
Required Qualifications
- State of Ohio Intervention Specialist License.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) and basic web skills.
- Minimum 1 year of classroom experience.
- Master’s degree with an emphasis in Special Education.
- At least 3 years of classroom experience in Special Education.
- Noise level in home office is usually moderate.
- Noise level at meeting locations throughout the state is typically moderate and similar to the home office.
