The University of Central Arkansas Lecturer of Accounting is responsible for teaching, service, and professional engagement. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesA lecturer at the University of Central Arkansas is expected to teach classes at the undergraduate level; graduate‑level course assignments are also possible. The faculty member will be expected to teach a variety of accounting courses in both face‑to‑face and distance education formats. Lecturers are also expected to provide service at a variety of levels (service levels may include student, department, college, university, profession, academic community, and/or local community).
Lecturers will maintain currency in the profession by engaging in professional engagement activities (e.g., consulting, attending or presenting CPE, leadership in professional associations, etc.).
Applicants should possess a command of the accounting discipline, the ability to deliver effective instruction and assessment of student performance, and the capability of engaging in the shared governance of relevant university units.

Teaching experience, in either traditional or non‑traditional settings, is desirable. Professional experience in accounting is also preferred. An undergraduate degree in accounting is preferred. Absent an undergraduate degree in accounting, the candidate should have significant experience in accounting.
