Position: Faculty Development Specialist for Online Learning

Faculty Development Specialist for Online Learning

The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) seeks a collaborative, forward‑thinking specialist to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of online and hybrid learning at High Point University. This full‑time, on‑campus role advances both graduate and undergraduate online programs through faculty support, instructional innovation, and data‑driven enhancement.

What You’ll Do
  • Consult with faculty and lead workshops on online and hybrid course design.
  • Support multimedia integration, accessibility, interactive tools, and best‑practice pedagogy.
  • Develop professional development programs and instructional resources.
  • Apply quality standards (QM, UDL) to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Research and recommend emerging technologies, including AI.
  • Collaborate across campus to assess impact on teaching, learning, and student success.
What We’re Looking For
  • Advanced degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum & Instruction, Humanities, or related field.
  • Experience supporting faculty in online teaching and technology integration.
  • Skill in developing training materials and leveraging LMS and educational technologies.
  • Knowledge of Quality Matters, UDL, and accessibility best practices.
  • Strong project management and collaboration abilities.
