$1,440 – $1,800 per credit hour
Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

Job DescriptionThe Department of Psychology is seeking a part‑time instructor to teach PSY 860:
Diversity & Cultural Issues in Assessment and Psychotherapy during the Spring 2026 semester beginning January 12, 2026 (3 credits).
Course description:
This course will provide an overview of multiculturalism, particularly as it relates to assessment, psychotherapy, and research.
Hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per‑credit‑rate history within the hiring department. This position is contingent on funding availability and enrollment.
Qualifications- Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or be working toward a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field.

- Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
- Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
- Preparing lectures, projects or other student assignments.
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week.
- Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class.
- Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet with your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the department chair or their designated contact of your absence and of your plan to cover the class.
- Working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes.
- Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations.
- Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Completing all other course‑related duties as outlined.
