Summary ofJob Duties
The Lecturer of Civil Engineering will develop and deliver online graduate courses in the Sam and Janet Alley Graduate Program in Construction Management. Responsibilities include constructing syllabi, leading online instruction, writing and administering exams, evaluating student performance, and possibly serving as a committee chair for students' comprehensive exams. This is a remote position. Regular, reliable, and non‑disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications- Ph.D. in civil engineering or construction management from an accredited institution of higher education
- Evidence of scholarly productivity through service
- Exhibited commitment to teaching excellence
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience developing and delivering online courses
- Expertise in teaching courses in construction productivity, real estate development, and supply chain management
Courses in the Sam and Janet Alley Graduate Program in Construction Management are asynchronous and are 8 weeks in duration. There are five eight‑week sessions each year. Working professionals are recommended to take one course per eight‑week session, completing the program in two years.
Salary InformationWill be paid PAP, based on headcount. $500 per student for the first 15 students and $75 per student thereafter.
