Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law invites entry-level and experienced applicants for a visiting professorship in the school's nationally ranked Legal Communication and Analysis Program.
The visitor position is a full-time position. The visitor is expected to teach up to 40 first-year students in Legal Communication and Analysis, which is a fall and spring semester course. The course is a graded, two-credit course each semester. Responsibilities include creating course materials; teaching class sessions; meeting with students in one-on-one conferences; reviewing outlines and drafts; assessing papers; and providing detailed and constructive feedback to students.
The position would be a ten-month appointment for the 2026-27 academic year, with the possibility for reappointment for the 2027-28 academic year. The visitor will have the opportunity to attend legal writing conferences and to write legal scholarship. The visitor will not be required to serve on faculty committees. The compensation package includes an entry-level salary of $80,000, a professional development fund that may be used to attend and present at legal writing conferences, a research assistant fund, and university benefits.
Summer teaching with additional compensation may also be possible.

The visitor position is ideal for one seeking entry into the legal academy. An entry-level visitor would have the opportunity to work with and learn from the IU McKinney faculty who teach Legal Communication and Analysis. Collectively, they have decades of experience as nationally recognized teachers and scholars.
