Job Summary

The Regional Admissions Counselor represents Angelo State University within the San Antonio and Austin area, supporting student recruitment by building and maintaining relationships with prospective students, families, and high school and college partners throughout the assigned territory. Working remotely within the region, this position serves as a front‑line ambassador for the University, delivering friendly, efficient customer service and engaging with students through outreach efforts, recruitment events, and select campus activities.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit students in the assigned region by providing excellent customer service and connecting with students through a variety of methods, including phone calls, emails, texting, virtual meetings, meetings on high school/college campuses, and specialized recruitment events.
  • Travel to and participate in recruitment events in the assigned region and on the ASU campus, presenting to prospective and admitted students, parents, and counselors at high schools, community colleges, and evening programs targeting new freshmen and transfer students.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with high school and community college staff and administrators to identify opportunities to connect with prospective freshmen and transfer students.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the ASU student experience, current admission standards and processes, financial aid processes, and scholarship opportunities for undergraduate students, and communicate that experience clearly and concisely.
  • Play an active role in creating a welcoming and high‑performing team environment within the Office of Admissions by supporting campus visit programs through virtual presentations, assisting with on‑campus events as needed, responding to inquiries via phone, email, and text with professionalism and care, participating in meetings and special projects, assisting with training and professional development of fellow team members, collaborating on team initiatives, and performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required plus two years of experience working with high school students, admissions, recruitment, or related fields.
  • Currently living in or willing to relocate to the San Antonio or Austin area.
