Fullstack Engineer II, Tutor Platform

This role sits on the Product team and may work on projects that advance our mission and engineering principles.

• Integrate state-of-the-art learning science into the product to help learners and teachers quickly identify and address learning gaps.
• Partner with public school districts with a high percentage of Free and Reduced Price Lunch students to build and scale teacher and learner tools for millions of learners.
• Build tools for teachers to use Khan Academy as a strategic classroom supplement.
• Contribute to a world-class product experience for an interactive web app, including scalable backend services and complex, stateful frontend interfaces.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code and push the team toward the mission with your contributions.
• Demonstrate strong communication, thoughtfulness, and a willingness to give and receive regular feedback.

• Show cross-cultural competency and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging.
• Empathize with learners globally and be excited to help others learn to love learning.
• Experience with Generative AI / LLMs is a plus (not required).

• 3+ years of experience building world-class product experiences for an interactive web app.
• Experience building and maintaining complex software, writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and communicate clearly.
