Job Description

JGO is seeking a National Engagement Coordinator to serve as the primary relationship-builder and engagement lead for a portfolio of small to mid-sized graduate campuses across the country. The National Engagement Coordinator reports to the Director of Programming. This role is deeply people-focused and ideal for someone who loves building trust, mentoring student leaders, and helping Jewish graduate communities thrive—often with limited on-the-ground resources.

The National Engagement Coordinator will work closely with student leaders on approximately 30–35 graduate campuses, providing guidance, coaching, and programmatic support while serving as their main point of contact ’ll play a critical role in ensuring students feel supported, inspired, and connected to the broader national JGO community.

This position is highly autonomous and collaborative. You’ll partner closely with JGO’s Programming Director and national engagement team to drive meaningful, high-quality engagement, while also having the freedom to shape relationships and strategies that meet the unique needs of each campus.

It is important to be able to build and maintain strong virtual relationships with students and campus partners, staying closely connected to their needs.

Preference for candidates based in the Northeast (or close to a major airport and one of our JGO hubs), with periodic domestic travel.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary Engagement Coordinator for approximately 33 campuses across the South and some of the Northeast, as well as any additional campuses assigned outside existing regional coverage.
  • Build meaningful one-on-one relationships with Jewish graduate students through coffee chats, campus visits, virtual meetings, and ongoing follow-up.
  • Develop campus-specific engagement strategies that respond to local culture, student interests, and campus dynamics.
  • Recruit and engage students in JGO’s flagship programs and initiatives, including Fellowships, JELCON, Shabbat Across America, leadership programs, and other national experiences.
  • Design and execute high-quality programs and events, both on and off campus—such as Shabbat dinners, learning experiences, social gatherings, and holiday celebrations.
  • Plan and manage event logistics across multiple cities and campuses, ensuring programs are well-run and reflect JGO’s professional, welcoming standard.
  • Travel regularly throughout the South, Canada, and other assigned locations to strengthen relationships, support students in person, and build Jewish communities.
  • Collaborate with regional Engagement Coordinators and national staff, sharing insights, best practices, and trends from your campuses.
  • Support outreach and marketing efforts in coordination with the central team, including targeted emails, student follow-ups, and light social media engagement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 0–3 years of professional experience (additional experience welcome).
  • Experience in engagement, event coordination, campus work, or Jewish communal organizations is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort initiating conversations with new people.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple campuses, priorities, and travel schedules.
  • Comfortable working independently while staying aligned with a national strategy.
  • Proficient in basic computer tools (Microsoft Office / Google Suite); familiarity with email marketing and social media is a plus.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm for frequent travel (about once a week); must live near a major airport.
  • Flexible availability for evenings and occasional weekends.
Location

Remote, with frequent domestic travel. Preference for candidates based in the Northeast or another major travel/campus hub of JGO.

What We Offer
  • Full-time, remote position with significant travel.
  • Competitive salary range of $50,000–$60,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Opportunities for professional development within a growing national organization.
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team environment.
