School Summary

Indiana Connections Academy (INCA) is a tuition‑free, virtual public school for students in grades K‑12 throughout Indiana. INCA’s academic programming focuses on career readiness and offers students programs of study in various career pathways.

Working from a home office in Indiana, the High School Science Teacher will support the mission of the school, teach students, and manage instructional programs virtually. Through phone calls, Class‑for‑Zoom sessions, and various curriculum and communication tools, the teacher will consult regularly with students and caretakers/learning coaches to ensure each student gains proficiency and demonstrates essential skills and standards for the course(s) taught.

• Guide students and families: maintain regular communication; advise on academics, career planning, graduation; stay informed of graduation requirements; facilitate required testing; encourage engagement in career readiness programming.
• Provide quality instruction and promote achievement: plan data‑driven instruction; deliver standards‑based, objective‑driven instruction via web conferencing; create asynchronous instructional resources; provide assessment feedback and grade timely; collaborate with other teachers as a member of the Professional Learning Community; support students and parents with alternate strategies and additional assistance; consult with staff specialists to develop enrichment activities and modifications; provide tiered interventions and targeted support through small group and individual instruction.
• Contribute to school culture and operations: plan and attend regional field trips; devise and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a school community; collaborate with Special Populations teachers and School Counselors; attend staff meetings and events; participate in state testing events; other duties as assigned.

• Highly qualified and certified to teach High School Science in Indiana.
• Strong technology skills, especially Google Suite.
• Interpersonal skills: oral and written communication, organization, timeliness, flexibility, collaboration, student‑centered practices, problem‑solving.
• Ability to work remotely and travel within the state of Indiana as needed.
• Ability to use a personal cell phone device for multi‑factor authentication.
