Position Summary:The intervention teacher, under the direction of their supervisor, is involved in the support of the department to ensure the academic success of all students. The teacher will collaborate with department staff to align efforts in the support of the Common Core State Standards. Teachers are required to participate in all staff meetings, trainings and/or sessions. Teachers are expected to uphold the school's mission and shared values, philosophy, and policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Intervention Duties:
Oversees and manages small group instruction across grade levels with direct intervention support services within assigned subject areasTeaches and coordinates Tier 2 intervention for target students by accelerating student progress to close learning gaps through the implementation, expansion, or enhancement of learning supports including, but not limited to, virtual tutoring or other virtual one-on-one or virtual small group learning supports, and learning recovery programs and materials designed to accelerate student academic proficiency.Analyzes informal and formal student assessment results to measure student growthFacilitates the management and interpretation of data necessary to develop, implement and evaluate interventionsCommunicates and collaborates professionally with teammates, parents, and community members to assist in coordination of intervention services for target studentsProvides non-evaluative classroom observation and feedback, modeling, and other supportive assistance necessary related to the implementation of the RTI processDevelops informational materials regarding the intervention program for parents and staff members.Provides training for parents and staff on skill development, standards, best practices, curriculum, etc.Plans lessons, coordinates curricular resources, and evaluates effectiveness of the program for students.Serves and meets with students during normal business hours unless prior approval has been extended by supervisorCompletes the required paperwork and documentation for each student according to individual deadlinesAttends mandatory teacher trainings such as annual all school meetings and regular Regional MeetingsCompletes online and other trainings as determined as necessary by the schoolsParticipates in WASC focus groups and completes assigned WASC related projects/tasksLiteracy Duties:

A broad base of educational knowledge, as well as a thorough understanding of educational opportunities available through the school, is necessary in order to support families adequately.
