The General Education Transition Coordinator oversees transition-related activities at the district level. The role assists staff in providing education and transition services that are critical to the success of students by providing guidance and training in a manner that is compliant with all pertinent laws and regulations. Services are provided for all levels of transition planning, including Middle School into High School and High School into the workforce/military or postsecondary training/education.

The position also assists in the completion of related reports that may be required by the school/state level. The General Education Transition Coordinator facilitates communications between students, parents, staff, school administration and agencies.

This is a full-time REMOTE position. Ability to work independently, typically 40 hours per week, is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There are 3 times per school year that in-person attendance is required: state testing, professional development and high school graduation. Rarely, but a potential could be another in-person meeting/s that may be required by administration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Serves as consultant and in-service leader to teachers in the coordination of transition activities;
  • Assists in preparing for or conducting needed in-service trainings;
  • Oversees all interagency linkages for general education transitions;
  • Acts as a resource to teachers and administration by keeping current with research and general education laws and attending professional development events in order to disseminate knowledge gained and solicit teacher/administration feedback to identify training opportunities;
  • Coordinates transition services for general education students;
  • Communicates, educates and responds to questions from administrators, teachers, students, parents, and agencies regarding transition services available for general education students;
  • Serves as liaison to transition agencies;
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal/State/District requirements for maintaining files;
  • Attends agency meetings as a school representative.

This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field AND
  • 3 years classroom experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates and Licenses

Transition-to-Work or Secondary Technical Education Certification, OR School Counselor Certification, OR Career Technical Education Certification

Other

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to travel for required in-person meetings, professional development, in-person graduation
  • Ability to clear required background check

Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
