The Registered Nurse Education Coordinator serves as a member of the First Choice nursing leadership team. This position will be working remotely.

The Registered Nurse Education Coordinator serves as a member of the First Choice nursing leadership team. This position will be working remotely.

• Develops, designs and implements the First Choice Iowa Regional program educational plan.
• Assists in the development of the First Choice educational programs in collaboration with the site-specific resources.
• Facilitates staff competency in providing relationship-based care by using adult learning methodology, which incorporates demonstrating interest in, and respect for learners, and creating an environment of safety for both patients and nursing staff.
• Works to assess, plan, develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate skill acquisition and the learning process of system-wide employees.
• Work activities include such collaborative functions as orientation, preceptor development and programming, continuing education, staff development, mandatory education, and new product/new process education.

• Facilitate Learning - Nurse Educators are responsible for creating an environment that facilitates student learning and the achievement of desired cognitive, affective and psychomotor outcomes.
• Facilitate Learner Development and Socialization - Nurse Educators recognize their responsibility for helping nursing staff develop and integrate the values and behaviors expected.
• Use Assessment and Evaluation Strategies - Nurse Educators use a variety of strategies to assess and evaluate student learning.
• Participate in Course/Program Design and Evaluation of Outcomes - Nurse Educators are responsible for formulating and evaluating course outcomes, and designing courses / programs that reflect contemporary health care trends.
• Function as a Change Agent and Leader - Nurse Educators model as a change agent
• Pursue Continuous Quality Improvement in the Nurse Educator Role - Nurse Educators recognize their role is multidimensional and that an ongoing commitment to develop and maintain competence in the role is essential.
• Engage in Scholarship - Nurse Educators acknowledge teaching is a scholarly activity.
• Function within the Educational Environment - Nurse Educators are knowledgeable about the educational environment within which they practice.
• Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner.
• Helps identify problems and offer solutions, and participates in their resolution
• Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, physicians, employees, and visitors in St. Joseph Mercy Health System. Follows HIPAA policies and procedures.

• Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice and education normally obtained through a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and five (5) years' experience in a Nursing department with increasing responsibility and interest in education, practice and quality.
• Minimum of one (1) year in a formal Nursing Educator role.
• Must have current Registered Nursing License.
• Ability to continuously learn and seek professional development and growth through journals, professional local, regional and national affiliations, continuing education programs, seminars, and workshops to keep abreast of trends.
• Experience in designing and developing various types of training and curriculum, and training trainers to deliver content.

Pay Range is $74,672.00 - $ annual gross salary
