2. Salary: $7,247 – $11,140 ($7,751 - $11,913 PERS). Type:
Permanent, Full-time, Exempt. This is a permanent position represented by SEIU.

This position follows a hybrid work model. Onsite presence is required when business or operational needs are best supported in person. Remote work requires reliable, secure internet and a professional work environment. Remote employees must maintain same performance, responsiveness, communication, and availability as in office.

What you will do

This position will support efforts by and between the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and local school districts, education service districts, and community colleges in implementing research-based, innovative Programs of Study based on Oregon Skill Sets that integrate academic and career and technical education. It provides expertise in the Business Career Area and is responsible for assigned portions of the CTE State Plan Implementation and other CTE/alignment work for EII.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of Programs of Study in Business by analyzing trends in student achievement data, enrollment, retention, program completion, and transitions; correlate program data with workforce needs and provide information and technical assistance to secondary and postsecondary programs, workforce stakeholders, and the Oregon Legislature.
  • Lead and facilitate an educator professional learning community for Business educators to increase regional capacity, improve delivery and continuous improvement of CTE Programs of Study; train CTE Regional Coordinators and Business educators on the Statewide Program of Study framework, application process, and skill sets.
  • Build partnerships with teachers, administrators, CTE Regional Coordinators, and community college staff to leverage resources, including federal funding, to expand school-wide and district-wide capacity for College and Career Readiness.
  • Collaborate with ODE internal offices (OEDI, OTLA, OESO) and serve as ODE liaison to Business Career Area student leadership organizations; align efforts around college/career readiness, diploma requirements, and Oregon Skill Sets; lead in resource alignment to assist districts with culturally relevant intervention, prevention, and student support integrating special and general education services.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements include:
Master’s degree in Education or related field and five years of education experience in the specialty area (e.g., classroom teacher, counselor, itinerant service provider), two of which include leadership experience. A Doctorate may substitute for two years of education experience but not for leadership experience. An Oregon Standard Administrative License may substitute for leadership experience.
