Instructors applying for this position will:
- Instruct students and facilitate their learning in accordance with policies and guidelines.
- Guide students in educational activities designed to promote intellectual, social, and physical growth.
- Teach the essential skills that will contribute to students’ development as educated and responsible adults.
Courses will include:
- Introduction to AutoCAD
- Working Drawings through AutoCAD
- Advanced Working Drawings through AutoCAD
A reasonable estimate of compensation for teaching one section of this course is $825–$2,500. The amount determined within the compensation range is dependent upon course modality, units of instruction, and number of enrollments. Instructional agreements are made on a section‑by‑section basis at the discretion of the University with no guarantee to teach future sections of this course or any other courses.

- Design interactive and motivational activities to fully engage participants and to reinforce student learning.
- Provide quality and technically relevant instruction in AutoCAD best practices.
- Provide continual feedback and various methods of assessment measurement by ensuring student mastery of the following learning outcomes:
- Basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools and organization of drawing objects on layers.
- Inserting reusable blocks and creating advanced object types such as arcs, polylines, polygons, and ellipses.
- Setting up and organizing layouts in AutoCAD and creating and editing text in a drawing.
- Applying dimensions to drawings and demonstrating how to annotate drawings.
- How to better utilize productivity tools and work with constraints.
- Creation and organization of more advanced blocks and layouts as well as building templates and annotation styles from scratch.
- Creating advanced dynamic blocks and attributes, learning about sheet sets and publishing and using collaboration tools while managing layers and learning to use the right tools for optimal performance.
- Design syllabus and curriculum as assigned.
- Communicate expectations to students.
- Prepare and deliver course materials: face‑to‑face, online, and/or in combination.
- Evaluate student learning and assign grades.
- Respond to student needs and questions.
- Create a high‑performance environment in which students of diverse backgrounds are motivated to succeed.
- Apply technology and leverage resources appropriately to enhance the curriculum (e.g. use Canvas or make arrangements for guest speakers).
- Handle mechanics of position according to deadlines (LOAs, texts, A/V, grade submission, etc.).
- Communicate with Program Manager and Instructor Services Team on a timely basis.
- Employ cultural competencies to reach any international students in assigned classes.
- Advanced degree from an accredited institution is preferred; in exceptional cases an equivalent combination of education in progress and work experience may be accepted.
