Clinical Assistant Professor, Post Master's DNP

The College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines is seeking a clinical assistant professor to teach in the PM DNP program. This position also includes an appointment as the program director.

Purpose of Position

To serve as a clinical assistant professor and program director for the Post Master's Doctor of Nursing Practice (PM DNP) program.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • 60% - Teaching and Advising Students in the PM DNP track (includes advising independent study projects). Potential courses to be taught include:
    • NURS 608 Healthcare Leadership, Economics and Finance
    • NURS 609 DNP Project Teams
    • NURS 610 DNP Capstone
    • NURS 614 DNP Culture of Safety & Ethics - (Essential)
  • 30% - Serve as Program Director for the Post Master's Doctor of Nursing Practice Program
    • Provide leadership for curriculum development, implementation & evaluation of the PM DNP track.
    • Promote development of the PM DNP program at the local, state and national level
    • Maintain all pertinent records for the PM DNP program as required
    • Serve as program representative at various meetings
    • Report applicable measures as part of the college assessment plan
    • Participate in inter-professional collaboration as relevant
    • Complete program grant applications to support the program as applicable
    • Assist in the recruitment of students to the program
    • Communicate with prospective PM DNP students
    • Make recommendations to the graduate school on decisions regarding admission to the program
    • Serve as academic advisor and develop plans of study for students in the program
    • Guide and monitor program progression of PM DNP students
    • Work on collaboration with clinical placement team to secure clinical practicum sites for PM DNP students
    • Assist with recruitment, mentoring and evaluations for faculty teaching in the PM DNP program
    • Provide guidance to course faculty to resolve student issues - (Essential)
  • 10% - Service to the University, College and/or Department Specific duties will be coordinated with the department chair.

  • Doctoral degree in nursing
  • 4 years of Nursing experience
  • Unencumbered nursing license in ND or ability to obtain licensure in ND
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

  • Experience in APN education
  • 2 years experience in administration
  • Evidence of scholarship
  • Evidence of leadership
