After School Program Manager

We are seeking a full time Program Manager to coordinate after and before school chess clubs, camps, and teaching staff in Howard, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, and Carroll Counties.

Silver Knights Chess has taught chess to over 150,000 children over the last 19+ years. We offer in-person clubs, camps, and tournaments in Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland, as well as an online Academy with players from all 50 states and 30+ countries. • Administrative work. You will be the point person to email, call, and meet with schools or PTAs. You'll coordinate the associated marketing and registration. You'll ensure high quality in your chess programs on a daily basis by reviewing club notes and other associated duties. Data entry, proficiency, organization, and attention to detail are especially important to this position.
• Employee Management. You’ll manage, schedule, mentor, visit, and evaluate a team of between 30 to 40 part-time chess coaches and aides.
• Customer Service. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive relationships to all types of customers -- individual parents, schools & PTAs, and more. You’ll visit chess clubs to monitor program quality and maintain positive relationships with site representatives.

This is a salaried position with annual compensation of $50,000 - $60,000 commensurate with experience, payable biweekly. This is a full time, hybrid work position that includes work from home and in-person site visits (Howard, Baltimore, Carroll and Anne Arundel). For the first 1-2 months, it will include 1-3 days a week of training in our office in Fairfax, with the option to stay in a hotel during that period. After initial training, the expectation is to visit our office in Fairfax 4 times a year.
