Normal Work Schedule: Working hours will be during the day, Monday - Friday. Maximum hours in a single week will be limited to 20 hours. Position will not involve working every week. Exact working times and frequency will depend on training needs of customers.

Job Purpose:
Tri-County Technical College (TCTC) is seeking an innovative, engaging, flexible adjunct instructor for the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) training program housed orting to the MSHA Training Program Director, adjunct instructor will teach New Miner and Annual Refresher classes for both MSHA Part 46 and Part 48. Classes may either be open enrollment or company-specific contract training, and instructor must be willing to teach in both in-person and online formats based on customer needs.
Instructor must have strong public speaking skills and be able to work both independently and in a collaborative format with the Lead Instructor/Training Director. Although training classes are generally held during daytime weekday hours, some travel will be required since the MSHA training program at TCTC is responsible for covering the entire state of South Carolina (SC) with occasional training in surrounding states for customers with additional locations besides their SC locations.
Remote work will also be considered due to the large geographical territory covered by this training program.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Either already holds MSHA Instructor Surface (IS) certification or has 2 or more years of documented mining supervision experience on a PT46 or PT48 mining operation and is willing to study and obtain MSHA IS certification. Must be familiar with the MSHA Act of 1977, Miners Rights, and the Part 30 Code of Federal Regulation.
Preferred Qualifications
Already holds MSHA Instructor Surface (IS) certification and has at least 1 year of safety training experience.
