The Day Trip Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the operations of year-round day trips for participants ages youth through adult. This includes program planning and development, Traveler engagement and onboarding, Trailblazer supervision and onboarding, administrative duties, program evaluation and improvement, and overall safety and compliance. Our teen and adult day trips typically run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday year-round, while youth programming varies seasonally.

Description

Position:
Day Trip Program Coordinator
  • Location:
    Denver, CO based
  • Reports to: Program Director
  • Supervises: Program Leads
  • Collaboration: Directly collaborates with leadership team
  • Term/Classification: Year-round Full-Time (Preferred 2-Year Commitment)
  • Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday (Sunday & Monday off)
  • Hour Distribution: Approximately 50% in-field (day and overnight trips) and 50% administrative. This balance may shift depending on the overnight trip schedule.
  • Hourly Wage: starting at $21 - $23/hr

Expectations & Responsibilities:
  • Leadership Collaboration
  • Attend weekly leadership office hours
  • Attend and participate in seasonal and mandatory staff trainings
  • Maintain a creative, open-minded, team-building approach while collaborating with all team members
  • Strive to challenge, create space for conversation, and grow alongside team
  • Self-start and take initiative with minimal supervision to complete tasks and accomplish goals
  • Set the tone of the organization to ensure morale, open communication, and positive employment culture of the organization is maintained
    • Day Trip Management & Development
  • Develop, create, promote, and plan out-of-the-box day trips tailored to participant requests/needs.
  • Identify the needs and feasibility of current and future programs.
  • Prepare program budget documentation in alignment with monthly program budget; oversee staffing for financial sustainability.
  • Provide daily support to programs, Trailblazers, and Travelers across all day trips.
    • Traveler Onboarding
  • Conduct meet-and-greets with interested and new Travelers.
  • Assist Travelers in navigating different programming opportunities.
  • Identify and understand Traveler support needs.
  • Assess Travelers for successful participation, adapted equipment, and additional supports.
  • Communicate with families, schools, agencies, and alternative programs to ensure a holistic understanding of support needs.
  • Create and implement trainings, tools, and resources to best support Travelers.
  • Create and maintain I.C.E. (In Case of Emergency) cards for all new Travelers.
    • Trailblazer Onboarding
  • Conduct meet-and-greets with interested and new Trailblazers.
  • Assist Trailblazers in navigating programming opportunities and commitment levels.
  • Identify Trailblazer commitment and coordinate necessary trainings.
  • Ensure all Trailblazers are up to date on personal care and safety procedure trainings.
  • Regularly schedule leadership and/or Trailblazer meetings (group or 1:1) to provide support, follow-up, development, and growth opportunities.
    • Support & Safety Compliance
  • Implement, monitor, and enforce safety standards as outlined in the Personal Care and Safety Procedure Guide.
  • Set the example by consistently following safety procedures and utilizing safety equipment.
  • Create and train Trailblazers on specific Traveler support expectations.
  • Attend in-person programming as support and/or trainer for specific Travelers to ensure expectations are met.
  • Maintain accurate and complete I.C.E. card information.
  • Update and print I.C.E. cards seasonally (or as needed).
  • Ensure the team and Trailblazers are trained and confident in using I.C.E. cards.
  • Work Schedule: This is a full-time, year-round, in-person position with the opportunity for remote work. The work schedule varies based on seasonal programming needs and will require weekends and/or evenings supporting the programming needs of the organization.

    $21 - $23 per hour
