Job description

Company is helping our client find a Japanese Language Instructor to support its vehicle build team. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver one-on-one and group Japanese language instruction to company employees based in the U.S. and U.K.

In this role, you'll work closely with the Dojo Language Program team in Tokyo, Japan, to coordinate lesson schedules, teach classes, and provide ongoing feedback to students.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Japanese language instructor who is comfortable teaching adult learners in both professional and casual settings and enjoys collaborating with a global, cross-functional team.

Most students in the program are true beginners, typically starting from zero or at a standard CEFR A1 level. The program currently uses standard textbooks such as Japanese for Busy People and Marugoto.

As a Japanese Language Instructor, you will:

• Organize and manage student sign-up and lesson scheduling.
• Teach one-on-one and group Japanese language lessons.
• Provide structured feedback to students after each lesson.
• Assess and track student progress over time.
• Support additional tasks as assigned by the Dojo Language Program team.

Ideal candidate profile
• Japanese language proficiency (spoken and written)

• Experience teaching Japanese Language lessons to adults, in both Business and Casual contexts

• Japanese Language teaching certificate or equivalent experience

• Ability to work well on a team, provide opinions, and respect the opinions of others

• Conversational English ability

Daily tasks

The primary responsibility of this role is to teach 1:1/group Japanese Language lessons to Woven by Toyota members living in our US/UK locations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Dojo Language program team based in Tokyo, Japan to organize lesson schedules, teach lessons, and provide feedback to students.
