Description:
Systematic introduction to the Spanish language. Development of aural comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Also provides an introduction to the culture of Latin America and Spain.
VTSU Online uses Canvas and provides a generic course template for all courses. The instructor is responsible for adding outcomes, academic materials, discussion and assignment that support the course description. Additionally, VTSU Online instructors are obligated to adhere to the VTSU Online Standards that address instructor presence, student engagement, instructor expectations, and assessment of student work. Faculty are responsible for designing their own course with the full support of an instructional designer and the structured VTSU Online Canvas Template.
The full course must be ready and published at least one week prior to the start of the semester.
- At least a master’s degree in a related discipline.
- Minimum of five years of experience teaching fully online, asynchronous courses.
- Demonstrated familiarity with adult learning theory.
- Experience with Canvas preferred.
- Ability to add weekly content including outcomes, readings, videos, discussions, and assessments in alignment with the course description, and to follow VTSU Online Standards.

Compensation is dependent upon online teaching experience and bargaining unit status; the starting range is between $ per credit.
