We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs 750+ employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district is comprised of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.

Position Overview & Responsibilities
General:
Provides leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills that will promote the educational development of each student, supervise academic and support personnel employed in the building; manage the overall budget and physical plant of the school building and programs. Specific to Assistant Principal of STMA Online Programming & AI Leadership:

• Lead and oversee STMA Online Programming
  , ensuring high-quality instructional delivery, strong student engagement, and alignment with district curriculum and academic expectations.

• Develop and expand online learning opportunities, centered at STMA High School, including credit recovery, flexible learning pathways, and programming that meets the needs of diverse learners.

• Supervise and support staff involved in online instruction
  , providing coaching, evaluation, and professional development to ensure effective virtual teaching practices.

• Monitor student progress and program outcomes within online courses, using data to guide improvements in student support, completion rates, and overall program effectiveness.

• Serve as the district’s lead for Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration
  , guiding the development of responsible and effective AI use in teaching, learning, and operations.

• Lead district wide AI implementation efforts centered at STMA High School, including establishing guidelines, piloting tools, and supporting staff adoption.

• Design and facilitate professional learning for staff
  focused on AI literacy
  , instructional applications, and ethical use of emerging technologies.

• Collaborate with district leadership, technology staff, and instructional leaders to ensure online programming and AI initiatives align with district strategic priorities.

• Ensure compliance with state and district policies related to online learning, digital tools, student data privacy, and instructional standards.

• Communicate program vision and outcomes to staff, students, and families, while promoting innovative learning opportunities available through STMA Online.

Requirements & Qualifications Must process the qualifications and certification set by the State of Minnesota, and the Minnesota Department of Education; three or more years of successful teaching experience. Two to five years of successful work as Assistant Principal is helpful.

Salary Starting salary range: $136,976-$147,704. For more information, please see the Principal Staff Master Contract  .
