Job Description

Overview

We are seeking an energetic and passionate After school Counselor to join our preschool team. The After school Counselor will play a vital role with our school-age program. We are looking for a candidate with a genuine love for working with young children, a background in physical education or a related field, and the creativity to design engaging activities that foster a love for movement and exercise.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead structured activities, such as games, exercises, and obstacle courses, to stimulate gross motor skills development.
  • Foster a safe and encouraging environment that encourages children to explore different movements and activities.
  • Customize activities to meet the diverse needs and abilities of individual children, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all.
  • Instill values of teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship through interactive group activities and games.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers, sharing updates on children's day.
  • Ensure the gym space is clean, organized, and equipment is well-maintained and safely stored.
Qualifications
  • HS diploma or Bachelor's degree in physical education, early childhood education, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience working with young children, particularly in a preschool or daycare environment.
  • Solid understanding of child development principles and proficiency in designing age appropriate physical activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young children effectively.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the dynamic nature of a preschool environment.

This is a part-time/full-time position, with hours typically scheduled during preschool operating hours. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
