Web Design & Digital Media – Adjunct (Online/Remote)

California Baptist University, an evangelical Christian university affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention, invites applications for the following position:
Web Design & Digital Media – Adjunct (Online/Remote) in the College of Architecture, Visual Arts, and Design (CAVAD). Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service through the integration of the Christian faith and learning.

A terminal degree in the field, or closely related discipline, is preferred. Candidates working toward a terminal degree, or who have significant experience in the field, may be considered. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University, and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching through the integration of Christian faith. Successful candidates will have a history of quality University teaching experience and demonstrated relational skills.

• Experience teaching in a Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or comparable higher-education LMS environment.
• Teaching experience with fundamental HTML coding concepts
  , including structure, semantic markup, and basic styling integration.
• Knowledge and instructional experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Word Press and Shopify
  , including theme customization and content workflows.
• A solid understanding of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) principles, including layout, usability, accessibility, and responsive design best practices.

• Creating weekly video or audio lectures embedded in each weekly module (CBU supports and equips faculty with access to Kaltura video content manager).
• Creating at least one weekly agenda videos and/or descriptive written announcements to engage with and orient students to each week’s agenda and/or assignments.
• Constructive, personalized written comments/feedback on all graded assignments to identify strengths and areas for student improvement.
• Adherence to the university “Regular Effective Contact” policy.
• Response to student inquiries within 24 hours.
• Minor assignments to be graded within 3 days of the due date, and major assignments to be graded within 7 days of the due date.

This position is for online/remote adjunct teaching opportunities and does not require a local (Southern California) presence.
