Prekindergarten Associate (through DSS)

Under the direction of the Early Childhood Coordinators and the site-based Early Childhood Intervention Specialist, the Prekindergarten Associate will deliver the prescribed general education curriculum to children in the classroom through direct instruction and co-instruction.

• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university required
• Ohio State Board of Education License for Prekindergarten Associate required
• Previous experience working with children aged 3-5 in an inclusive program preferred

• Deliver the general education curriculum (e.g., play, small group projects, open-ended questioning, group discussion, problem-solving, cooperative learning, and inquiry experience) and learning across contexts (indoor, outdoor, home-based).
• Assist the Early Childhood Intervention Specialist in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
• Assist the Early Childhood Intervention Specialist in the implementation of the social-emotional curriculum, practices, and procedures.
• Assist the Early Childhood Intervention Specialist with documentation requirements, including assessing student growth and collecting data to monitor student progress.
• Help maintain accurate and complete student records; help prepare and submit required reports on time.
• Assist Early Childhood Intervention Specialist and students with tasks related to daily activities (e.g., toileting, snack, handwashing, and helping load and unload buses).
• Perform routine clerical tasks and assist with maintenance of the classroom as directed by the Early Childhood Intervention Specialist or Early Childhood Coordinator(s).
• Maintain a safe classroom environment; report any safety concerns to Early Childhood Coordinators.

Hourly and commensurate with experience and education. Position Type:
