Student Activities Coordinator – Brightpoint Community College
Brightpoint Community College is a public two‑year institution located within the Greater Richmond metropolitan area. The Student Activities Coordinator will plan, develop, and manage a comprehensive student activities program that promotes student engagement, community development, educational programming, and student leadership. This position enhances the student experience and supports student success by coordinating events, advising student organizations, and fostering meaningful opportunities for involvement across the College’s service region.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate a diverse range of student activities, events, and programs that support student engagement and success.
- Develop and maintain an annual student activities calendar and implement targeted marketing strategies to promote participation.
- Manage event logistics, including scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and compliance with institutional policies and risk‑management procedures.
- Supervise student‑activities staff, including student workers and part‑time staff, through hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Advise and support student clubs, organizations, and the Student Government Association to promote leadership development and ensure compliance with college policies.
- Assist in the development and oversight of program budgets and maintain accurate records related to programming, participation, and assessment.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners to deliver co‑curricular programming and support college‑wide initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Experience planning, coordinating, and implementing events, programs, or student activities.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate complex activities.
- Ability to work with a diverse student population and foster student engagement and leadership development.
- Ability to work at both campuses and travel within the College’s service region.
- Successful completion and passing of a background check.
- Experience working in higher education, student activities, or student affairs.
- Experience advising student organizations, student government, or leadership programs.
