Bach To Rock («B2R») America’s Music School for students of all ages is currently seeking Early Childhood Music Teachers to work as part-time employees providing music and performance lessons to students at the Franklin location.
Teachers at Bach to Rock use B2R curriculum to provide students of all ages an inspiring and well-balanced music education. By teaching theory and technique using music that students know and love, B2R teachers develop musicians who enjoy performing, recording in our studio, and even composing original music!
Position PurposeProvide basic music instruction to students in Early Childhood classes. Classes are 45-60 minutes and serve 3-8 students.
These classes are:- Rock ’n Roll (Ages 0‑3, with student’s caregiver present)
- Rock City (Ages 3‑5)
- Kids ’n Keys (Ages 5‑7)
Specific Early Childhood Music Teacher duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Learn, understand, and execute the Bach to Rock Early Childhood curriculum as designed.
- Prepare for and deliver instruction using the Bach to Rock detailed lesson plans and activities.
- Create a warm and welcoming class environment in which young children can feel cared for and safe.
- Use the recommendations in the B2R curriculum to encourage and educate caregivers that attend class with their children.
Knowledge and Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed here represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
- Must demonstrate an understanding of basic music concepts and be able to communicate those concepts in a developmentally appropriate and age‑appropriate manner with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
- Must play a musical instrument – piano, keys, or guitar are preferred.
- Must be able to sing in tune and a cappella (unaccompanied).
- Must demonstrate the ability to run sound equipment.
- Must be able to receive constructive feedback on teaching techniques and apply the feedback to new teaching situations and environments.
- Must be physically present at B2R (or Satellite location) for scheduled lessons and administrative responsibilities (Virtual lessons and remote work determined on a case‑by‑case basis).
- Must demonstrate advanced knowledge of music theory and technique relevant to primary instruments and band performance.
- Must possess effective time management and organizational skills and be able to keep a group of students on task.
- Be able to operate basic office equipment (i.e., telephones, photocopiers and computers).
- Be able to communicate and interact effectively with the public.
- Be able to work effectively with B2R staff and management.
- Be able to operate in a fast‑paced work environment.
- Be able to adapt to change in the workplace.
- Pass a background check.
- Certificate and/or degrees in one or more of the following:
- Elementary Education
- Music Education
- Early Childhood Education
- Music Therapy
- Those who are currently enrolled in a degree program in one of the listed majors may also be considered.
- Years of experience in subject areas may be substituted for degree or licensure.
- Must be proficient in speaking and writing in English.
- Additional language(s) are a plus!

- Ability to lift and move the equipment typically associated with B2R’s day‑to‑day operation, e.g., amplifiers, keyboards, recording equipment, light furniture, etc.
