Position: CCE Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) Adjunct Instructor
Location: Pendleton

Job Purpose

Tri-County Technical College (TCTC) is seeking an innovative, engaging, flexible adjunct instructor for the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) training program. The instructor will report to the MSHA Training Program Director and teach New Miner and Annual Refresher classes for both MSHA Part 46 and Part 48.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver open enrollment or company‑specific contract training for MSHA Part 46 and Part 48, both in-person and online, based on customer needs.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with the Lead Instructor/Training Director to ensure effective instruction.
  • Manage flexible scheduling, including daytime weekday hours, overnight travel as required by the state-wide training program, and consider remote work options.
  • Demonstrate strong public speaking skills and a commitment to student success.
Qualifications
  • Either currently hold MSHA Instructor Surface (IS) certification or have at least two years of documented mining supervision experience on a PT 46 or PT 48 operation and be willing to study for MSHA IS certification.
  • Be familiar with the MSHA Act of 1977, Miner’s Rights, and Part 30 Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Have at least one year of safety training experience (preferred).
