The Department of Curriculum & Instruction is hiring Adjunct Teaching Specialist or Adjunct Lecturer positions for the Curriculum and Instruction Program. This is a temporary, non-tenured Academic Professional and Administrative (P &
A) position as a Teaching Specialist or Lecturer, paid on a per‑course basis. Applications are reviewed as openings occur, and individual applicants are invited to interview when their skills or areas of expertise match an opening. The position is designed to establish a pool of instructors.
The individual hired will be appointed to a Fall, Spring, Summer, or full‑year part‑time Teaching Specialist or Lecturer in Curriculum and Instruction during the academic year 2026‑27.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Job ResponsibilitiesTeaching (90%)
- Attend class meetings and deliver course content.
- Evaluate student performance and submit grading.
- Respond to student inquiries and meet with students.
Course Preparation (10%)
- Complete orientation and training.
- Meet with appropriate faculty and gather information as needed.
- Develop course content and syllabus.
- Prepare course materials.
Salary range: $944 - $2,150 per credit/supervisee. Final salary offers depend on the candidate’s experience, skills and internal equity within the department, as well as how many credits are taught or students are supervised. Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor‑Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- Earned master’s in Education, or a closely related field, for appointment as a Teaching Specialist.
- Earned doctorate in Education or a closely related field, for appointment as a Lecturer.
- Evidence of attention to diverse identities in teaching or professional experience, and the commitment to support the University’s work in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a university level.
Pay range: $944 - $2,150 per credit/supervisee, depending on education, qualifications and experience. Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor‑Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
