Job SummaryAdjunct Instructors facilitate student learning and develop instructional strategies to promote student success.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Learning Facilitation – Foster student learning by developing instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support engagement. Employ learning experiences that integrate multiple delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize student success, such as hybrid, in‑person, virtual, and online course delivery.
- Assessment – Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful. Use data to measure course outcomes and implement improvement strategies based on evidence.
- Classroom Management – Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student engagement evaluation.
- Team Participation – Support the college by engaging with the department and staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives.
- Business & Community Engagement – Build and maintain relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners and promote the College and its programs.
- Student Success & Support – Serve as an advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services staff to retain students, close achievement gaps, and help all students succeed.
- Professional Development – Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends, current occupational practices and teaching through professional development activities, and maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required to maintain accreditation.
- Associate degree in related field.
- Three years of occupational experience (Journey‑Level Machinist, Tool and Die Maker, Model Maker, and/or General Machinist) in the field taught, with at least one year within last five years. One year of related experience may be waived with at least two years of post‑secondary teaching experience in the same field within last five years.
- Teaching or training experience desirable.
- Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality education programs, including development of curriculum and customized training.
- Must meet FVTC requirements and maintain HLC, FQAS, and other licensing standards.
- Verifiable apprenticeship completion and current journey‑worker machinist card required.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Subject to FVTC Motor Vehicle Records Check.
- Proficiency in learning management system.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Adaptability to changing demands.
- Continuous improvement in instruction quality.
- Background check including criminal record history.
- Sitting required; occasional standing and mobility.
- Light to moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Climbs stairs or ladders if needed.
- Fine motor skills for instructional technology.
- Repetitive motions like typing.
- Clear communication skills.
- Travel may be required for off‑site teaching or professional development.

Compensation and BenefitsHourly pay rate: $45.00, based on experience, qualifications, and market data.
