Business Administration and Management Adjunct Faculty (Part‑Time)
Virginia Western Community College is a two‑year public institution located in southwestern Roanoke, VA. We seek part‑time adjunct faculty to teach college‑level courses in the School of Business, Technology, and Trades. Courses include Intro to Business, Principles of Management, Human Resources Management, Marketing, Financial Management, and Applied Management Principles. Faculty may teach in‑person on our main campus or deliver distance‑learning/online courses.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses in a timely and engaging manner.
- Develop syllabi, exams, and learning strategies that meet course objectives.
- Create curriculum and assessments aligned with community‑college standards.
- Maintain currency in teaching disciplines and trends in community‑college education.
- Participate in departmental communication and contribute to the academic community.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management;
Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the same field. - Minimum of two (2) years of related occupational experience in business‑related positions.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in writing syllabi, exams, and developing learning strategies.
- Experience teaching at the college level, preferably at the community‑college level.
- Ability to use technology in the classroom.
