Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati, College of Engineering and Applied Science invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in biomedical engineering, engineering education, or biomedical engineering education with demonstrated experience in conducting research in engineering education with a focus on biomedical engineering, including teaching and learning in biomedical engineering contexts, curriculum development, student learning, or engineering workforce preparation.
The incumbent will conduct research and/or analyze research data and ensure that all research needs are appropriately met following the policies and procedures of the University of Cincinnati.
The position is for two (2) years with the possibility for extension based on qualifications and performance on the project(s). Remote work arrangements may be available and/or subject to change in accordance with university policies.
Essential Functions- Conduct research in engineering education within the pre-determined research scope and methodology set by the Principal Investigator.
- Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas that promote current research.
- Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts and presentations of research results.
- Participate or assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentation; may assist in grant writing.
- Keep informed of developments in field to maintain and enhance professional expertise.
- May teach research approaches to others, train, and mentor junior research staff, including undergraduate research assistants.
- Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
- Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well.

The position requires a Ph.D. (prior to effective date of appointment) in biomedical engineering, engineering education, or biomedical engineering education with demonstrated experience in biomedical engineering education contexts.
Required ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of curriculum development and workshop facilitation in higher education spaces, as well as experience in asset-based and community-based research approaches. The candidates will also have demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative research.
